Governance

UNF has a system of governance similar to the bicameral system in place at many other Canadian universities. The Board of Governors is responsible for the university's overall management and strategic direction, including fiduciary, legal, and financial responsibility, with a role and mandate similar to that of Boards of Governors for public universities. The Academic Council consists of a broad representation of senior administrative staff, faculty, staff, students, and alumni. Decisions about academic programs, policies, and standards are made by the Academic Council.
